Service · Home builder SEO
SEO for builders, built around the searches you already own.
A buyer types your community name into Google. Somebody ranks for it. In most markets it is NewHomeSource, Zillow or Realtor.com, and the buyer submits a form on their page instead of yours. You then buy that lead back.
Left alone, that gap widens with every phase you open. Each new community is another branded search that somebody else monetizes, and every plan name you release becomes another query answered on a portal. The paid channel keeps working, but only while the card is charged.
Home builder SEO closes that gap by publishing the page that should have ranked in the first place. One page per community, one per floor plan, one per area you build in, with authority pointed at them. You own the entity being searched, which is what makes it winnable.

Pricing
Four tiers. Published prices.
Prices are published because there is no reason to hide them. Every tier is month to month, the setup fee is waived, and a dedicated account manager is included on every tier. Any tier can be bought as a monthly subscription or as a one-time order.
Every plan includes Google Business Profile optimization, citation building and cleanup, and review work. Guest posts are outreach articles on other sites; Web 2.0 pages are published on high-authority platforms. Amplification links point to those placements, not directly to your website.

Most builders should be on Community Reach or Builder Portfolio. A builder targeting several communities, a set of floor plan names and a metro area needs more than the 20 keywords Project Reach covers. If you run one community and one service area, Project Reach is the honest answer and we will say so.
The method
Five steps, in this order, every time.
The order matters more than the list. Authority pointed at a page that is not structured to convert a buyer is wasted, and a well structured page with no authority behind it will sit on the second screen indefinitely.
- 01
Market review
Your communities, plan names, build areas and the firms you lose to. We record what ranks today for each name you own.
- 02
Keyword analysis
Branded assets first, then research intent, then commercial intent. In-depth research from Project Reach upward.
- 03
On-page checks
Indexation, templates, internal linking, page structure. We report what your platform blocks before you buy.
- 04
Authority build
Guest posts on DA 20+ sites and Web 2.0 properties on DA 50+, each delivered as a live URL you keep.
- 05
Report and refine
Monthly. Positions, placements, and what changes next month. Your account manager writes it, not a dashboard.
What you get
Deliverables, not activity.
- A page per communityNot one page listing all of them. The community is the entity a buyer searches, so it gets the page.
- A page per floor plan namePlan names are branded search. They are the cheapest wins on the map and almost nobody publishes for them.
- Area pages for where you buildMetro, submarket and school district language, written accurately, without claiming offices you do not have.
- Guest posts on DA 20+ sites10 on Site Start, 50 on Builder Portfolio. Real published articles, each delivered with the live URL and placement date.
- Web 2.0 properties on DA 50+Built and kept in your name. They stay live and stay yours if you cancel.
- Technical and content gap workOn-page audit, content gap analysis and premium indexing from Project Reach upward. Competitor traffic review from Community Reach.
Plainly, what this is
Home builder SEO is three things. Pages that match what buyers actually search, technical work so those pages can be crawled and indexed, and links from real published articles so the pages carry enough authority to outrank a portal. Nothing else. Anyone describing it differently is selling something else.
What it is not
It is not paid search, it is not a rebuild of your site, and it is not a promise of position. We do not guarantee rankings, home sales or lead volume. We also do not advise on construction, licensing, code or lending questions, because those vary by jurisdiction and are not ours to answer.
Why this works differently for builders
Four things no generalist agency accounts for.
The portal owns your branded search
NewHomeSource, Zillow, Realtor.com, BDX and Homes.com outrank builders for their own community and plan names. A generalist agency chases metro head terms instead and leaves the easy wins sitting there.
You may not control the CMS
Many builders run on BDX, Builder Designs or Group Two with limited template control and syndicated inventory. We tell you which items your platform blocks before you spend anything.
Spring selling season decides the year
Content and authority need to land months ahead of the season, not during it. Work starting in February is competing against work that started the previous August.
Rate sensitivity cuts both ways
Demand moves with lending conditions and nobody controls that. Visibility compounds and stays; paid demand stops the day the spend stops, which matters most in a soft market.
Visibility compounds. Ad spend stops the day you stop paying for it.
Process
The first ninety days.
- Days 1 to 10Review and mappingWe list every community, plan name and build area, record what ranks for each, and identify which searches a portal currently owns. You get the list whether or not you continue.
- Days 10 to 30Structure and on-pagePage structure, internal linking and technical items your platform allows. Content briefs for the community and plan pages that do not exist yet.
- Days 30 to 60Authority build beginsFirst guest posts and Web 2.0 properties go live. Every placement arrives in the report as a clickable URL with the authority figure at time of placement.
- Days 60 to 90First movement, then refineBranded and plan name terms usually move first. Your account manager reports position change, placements delivered, and what is queued next.
Questions
About this service.
What does home builder SEO cost?
Programs run from $125 a month on Site Start to $575 a month on Builder Portfolio, with Community Reach at $325 as the best value tier. Any tier can be bought as a one-time order instead, from $140 to $620. The setup fee is waived on all five and there is no contract.
Which tier does a builder usually need?
Community Reach or Builder Portfolio. Community Reach covers 40 keywords across 2 domains, which suits a builder with two or three communities and a metro area. Builder Portfolio covers 100 keywords across 4 domains, which suits a production builder with several active communities and a long plan list.
How is this different from a home builder marketing agency retainer?
Most home builder marketing companies bundle SEO into a retainer with paid media and creative, and report activity. This is a defined deliverable list at a published price, month to month, with every link delivered as a live URL. Paid media is outside these plans.
Do you need access to our website?
For content posting, yes, author level access is enough. For technical items we can either implement directly or hand your vendor a specification, which is common for builders on a locked platform. Nothing requires a rebuild.
Do you work with local builders in one market?
Yes. Local SEO for builders working a single metro is a smaller keyword set and usually starts at Project Reach. We do not publish location pages for cities we do not operate in, and we will not imply you have offices or credentials you do not hold.
What happens if we cancel?
The program stops at the end of the month and the assets stay yours. Guest posts and Web 2.0 properties remain live under your name. There is no clawback, no takedown and no exit fee.
Is home builder digital marketing the same as home builder SEO?
No. Digital marketing is the wider category and usually includes paid media, social, email and creative production. Home builder SEO is one channel inside it, and it is the only one sold on this site. We price it separately so you can see what it costs on its own rather than inside a bundled retainer.
How do I choose between home builder marketing agencies?
Compare deliverables rather than decks. Most home builder marketing companies quote a monthly retainer covering an unspecified mix of work; ask each of them how many links land per month, at what authority, and whether you keep them.
A home builder digital marketing agency that also runs paid media may be the right answer if you want one supplier for everything. If you want the search line to be separately measurable, buying it at a published price makes that possible.
Do you work with local builders in a single metro?
Yes. SEO for local builders working one market is a smaller keyword set than a multi-community program, so home builder local SEO usually starts at Project Reach rather than Community Reach. The work is the same shape: community and plan pages, area pages for where you genuinely build, and authority pointed at them.
